The Keercutter Connection Kitchen Designer Process

This is not a typical job board.  Retailers cannot see your name, resume or portfolio.  Your profile is given a number, your name is removed.   A Retailer will only see your profile.  Your personal information is confidential and held by Keercutter Connection. There is no job description posted anywhere for you to view.

The Retailer has filled out a profile form similar to yours giving the job requirements, skills and attributes.

What We Offer

Simple Identification and Matching System

The matching system connects Retailers and Kitchen Designer-candidates, who have the same passion, skills and abilities.  Retailers will develop their own search criteria – one that fits their job requirements, skill-sets, and experience and company culture – with your abilities, in a 24/7 format.  Fill in your Kitchen Designer-profile and let the system work for you.

The Interview Process

Facilitating the Interview Process

NOTE:  Once a Retailers shows interest, Keercutter Connection will assign a Project Manager to you.  Your Project Manager will facilitate the process with you from start to finish.

Step One: Connecting with you- the Kitchen Designer Candidate.  Your Project Manager will:

  • Validate your profile
  • Determine your seriousness about your job search
  • Review updated resume, career progression and salary history
  • Describe the job opportunity and company culture
  • Solicit your interest and fit in this opportunity
  • Get commitment to continue on the process
  • If you are not interested, your Project Manager will let the Retailer know
  • If you are interested, we will reveal the company name
  • Ask you to rate your interest on scale of 1-10 and why
  • Identify 3 different times/dates of availability for interview
  • Describe the next step in the process – The Homework Assignment

The Homework Assignment

Your Retailer will be sending you a written Homework Assignment.  Log into your account to see these questions and respond.

The Interview Stage

NOTE:  At first face to face, you will fill out an employment application.  Be prepared with employment dates, salary history and reference list.

The Project Manager will coordinate all the interviews required, on both sides of the match; set up and confirm, times, dates, and locations.  That confirmation will be in the form of a telephone call and an email.

The Feedback Stage

Every time you talk to the Retailer, your Project Manager will follow up to get feedback from you.  Your Project Manager will:

  • Find out what you liked and didn’t like about the company, people etc.
  • Find out how you see yourself fitting into your showroom and culture
  • Ask you to rank you level of interest between 1-10 and why
  • Discuss future steps in the process
  • Review compensation; validate what your present package looks like presently and what you are looking for
  • Discuss commissions payout schedule and how that will effect the start date
  • Review counter offers

The Reference Stage

NOTE: Confidentiality is HUGE at this stage.  Do not list any reference that put your present employment at risk.  Make a list of references:

  • Name
  • Their contact information including phone number
  • Work relationship (boss, peer, subordinate, customer, factory rep)
  • List at least one person from each of these categories: a past boss, a peer, and a customer.

The Offer Stage

If both parties are still interested, your Project Manager will assist with offer considerations by:

  • Reviewing the “counter offer” possibility
  • Discussing an acceptable offer

The Offer

The offer will be delivered to you, by the Retail employer:

  • It will be presented verbally and will include salary and details of benefits, and a start date
  • Followed up by a written offer, requiring a signature of acceptance
  • Acceptance will be expected within 24 hours after offer is extended

Offer Acceptance

NOTE:  This is a critical time.  You will be expected to:

  • Call the Retailer immediately to accept the offer
  • Determine with the Retailer when (date, time) you plan to give notice
  • Discuss with the Retailer what you believe will happen when you give notice – will you be terminated immediately or will you ride out your two weeks.
  • Write a resignation letter.  Your Project Manager will assist you to develop this.

Resignation and Giving Notice Stage

NOTE: Again, this is a critical time.

Stay in contact with your new employer.  Visit the showroom, find out what will be expected in the first week.
